OUR CARNIVAL QUEEN AND PRINCESS FOR 2017

Bishops Castle Carnival committee have announced that their carnival queen for the 120th carnival will be local girl Emma Gwilliam.  Emma lives in Oak Meadow in Bishops Castle, she is 25 years old and was a pupil at Bishops Castle Community College.  Emma enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as horse riding and walking with her dogs.  In 2012 Emma was an attendant to Charmaine Kerswell who was the Carnival Queen for that year.  Emma takes the title on from last year’s queen Donna Hughes.

This year’s carnival princess will be Megan Morris.  Megan is 7 years old and is in class 3 at Bishops Castle Primary School.  In 2014 Megan was attendant to the youngest every carnival princess Leah Davies.  Megan lives with her parents in Station Street and is a pupil at Bishops Castle Primary School.  Megan likes playing sports and enjoys art and baking.  She takes the title this year from Katie Barkley who was last year’s Princess.

Megan will be joined on her float by attendants Poppy Bavastock who will be 8 years old on carnival day and is a friend of Megan’s along with Megan’s cousin Phoebe Jones who is 10 years old.  Poppy and Phoebe are also pupils at Bishops Castle Primary School.  Press Officer Karen Bavastock said “I met some very excited young ladies to discuss carnival day and it was lovely to hear that Megan has lots of ideas for her carnival float.  I think her parents, family and friends are going to be very busy”.
